For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive . . . for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not as a results of works, so that no one may boast. (I Cor 15:22; Eph 2:8,9)

Johnny was the curbside checker. He was very
helpful and said the he would pray for us. He are
thankful for the Johnny's of this world.

The Airport

Well we made it through with all the bags--a whole pottery workshop!! Upon arrival at the airport, they said that we were not allowed to take all the bags that we had. Daniel, Brigette, Benjamin and Holly prayed for us that the Lord would give us favor. He answered their prayers and our bags will be shipped all the way through to Namibia. We were originally told that we would have to transfer our own luggage (9 pieces plus our carry-ons) at Johannesburg. The problem with the bags when we got here, turned into a blessing from God--all of our bags will go straight through. Needless to say we are happy about that.

We want to thank Adam for coming to the airport, but we were already through the gate!!!! Sorry Adam, but we are thankful that you came to see us off.

We are praying that all the equipment makes it over--we will find out on Wednesday. We fly from Birmingham to Atlanta, then from Atlanta to Johannesburg (16 hrs). We spend the night in Johannesburg. Then from Johannesburg we fly for 2 hours to our destination: Windhoek, Namibia.

Again, Dale and I want to thank all those who have helped with this project. We will keep you posted.

I hope to keep everyone that is interested informed of our travels to Namibia, Africa. We leave Monday March 29 and return April 23. If I can figure it all out, I will post pictures as well. Check back from time to time.

My husband, Dale, and I leave for Namibia, Africa in 4 days. This is an especially exciting trip because Dale and I are going together on a mission trip. In my early 20's I lived in Europe ministering with Teen Challenge. Since that time I have gone on short-term mission trips to Mexico, Romania, and Kenya, Africa. I have two brothers on the mission field, so needless to say, we believe sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with all the nations is important. Dale has recently been to Honduras on Medical missions. This is the first time we will go together!!

We are going to help drill for water with the organization By Provision and their founders, Gary and Elizabeth Wilkins (www.byprovision.org). Did you know that 4,500 children die every day from water-related diseases?

We are also going to set up a pottery workshop so that young women can learn a trade which will help to provide for themselves. I want to thank all those who have contributed, and prayed for this effort. We are sooo blessed to have so many wonderful friends who have been generous with their concern, prayers, and finances. Ultimately, it is the Living Water that compels us. John 4:14 says, The water that I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life. We are going with expectation that in our serving that we will behold the Lord work in lives around us, and bring the lost to Himself. We expect to come away being blessed by those we meet.
This man and I are in are 28th year of marriage. WE are sustained by the love of God. He has been more than good to us. We are thankful that He has empowered us by His grace. Even though we don't deserve it, we are so glad that Jesus counts us His own. Wow, what an honor.

We are going to Africa together!!

Because He Lives!!!

When my husband, Dale, and I were in Ireland a few years ago, we had gone to the pub to have dinner and listen to the locals play their traditional Irish music. The pub was packed with those wanting to hear the music and get a cheap bite to eat. We sat with a young man who now lived in Ireland, but was originally from France. We begin to talk about spiritual things. He stated that he was not Catholic (the national religion) because it was an ancient religion and he was a progressive. We shared with him that we were not Catholic but we were followers of Jesus Christ. He was astounded that we would follow a man that had died two thousand years ago. I quickly stated, "But He is not dead, He is alive." His reaction was one that I had never seen before. His whole body jumped as if he had been hit by lightening, and said, "Jesus is alive?"

Amazing that there are those who may be 'progressive', but have never heard that Jesus is alive. Of course, it may seem like a myth, but little do they know that He is real and He is alive. Because He is alive, every individual must grapple with what they will do with who He is.

He is the creator of the Universe. Colossians 1:15-17, 19-20a states, He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things and in Him all things hold together . . . For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

And He came to rescue all mankind from themselves--to set them free from their sin. Romans 5:6-8 tells us, For while we were helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, that that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 6: 9 tells us that Jesus has been raised from the dead and that death no longer has mastery over Him. If we would only be united with Him by faith, we will also walk with Him in new life. He is the fountain of youth.

He is the one true God and He lives today!! This is the point and this makes life worth living . . .
